I’m very proud that my novel A Hibiscus Coast has been longlisted for the Sunday Times Fiction Prize, South Africa’s leading award for fiction.
Congratulations and good luck to the other longlisted writers!

Finally I’m home to launch A Hibiscus Coast in Cape Town at the Book Lounge on Tuesday 26 April 2022, and in Durban at Ike’s Books on Tuesday 3 May 2022. Come along! (Just remember to RSVP.)
My first book of stories, Stations, is now available in Québec French from L’Instant Même.
The translation team for the book is Myriam Ouellet, Mylène Tremblay, Tamara Djurica, Émilie Dumas, Lou Fero, Iris Lindsay and Marie-Ève Rousseau, under the supervision of Louis Jolicœur. The cover is by Jean de Wet.
Thank you to L’Instant Même, especially publisher Geneviève Pigeon, for your faith in me and my work. I shall hopefully be in Québec in the late spring or summer of 2022 for some promotion. Until then, bonne lecture!
